What have previous generations ruined for us? 

The world is pretty different than the one that we grew up in. This is how the passage of time works. Things don't stay the same. We have to constantly keep up with the changes that are happening in our world, or else be left behind by them. But sometimes it feels like things move so fast that we don't stop and consider whether or not they are worth changing. Some things are worth keeping the same. We don't want  lose everything that we worked for just in pursuit of something new. This happens in technology all of the time. There was nothing wrong with the old iPhone charger. But they went ahead and changed it anyways just because they could. There are so many things that you can miss about the world gone by. You can never get it back, but you can reminisce about how things used to be. But where do we assign the blame? Things have a way of changing with time, no matter if you want them to or not. But it's important to stop and think about what went wrong and what went right. Maybe you want to reflect on the things from your youth that you are sad to be without. You consider what you could bring forward with you in your new world. That's what this thread is all about. Remembering how the world used to be, and thinking about ways we can make it like that for ourselves. There's lots of discourse to be had around generations. We each belong to a generation, and we may have some friction with the ones before us and after us. This is one of the truisms about life on earth. You're going to be a little bit angry about the people who came before you, and the people who come after. We can recognize their contributions, but we can also recognize their deficits.     Alphaplays69 How much easier it used to be to travel on a budget. There are stories from older generations about places. that were cheap, relatively unknown, and almost empty compared with today. Once word got out and tourism took off, a lot of those spots became expensive and crowded.

    Nice-Background890 Here up north, good hunting spots. "Public land" is mostly controlled by families that have been hunting in the same sport for 70 years. So you get to pound sand if you're new to it even though it is public and not private land.

    bimbimbaps Thrifting, Antiquing, and Goodwill. Used to get CHEAP vinyl records of classics for pennies, great quality second hand clothing, amazing shape, heritage quality furniture. Not always a hit but MAN when it hit it was a home run.

    All gone now. Goodwill is just as expensive as retail, "Antiques" stores are filled with Tragedeigh's trying to flip Ikea furniture that's been spray painted, thrift stores are filled with junk quality stuff that has never been maintained and has SKY ROCKETED in price.
